Of the hut tours below, you will find a detailed overview with the severity, starting and finishing point, daily programme and tips!

1. Tour de Mercantour: The ideal hut tour for beginners and young families with a love of the sun. A 5-day trek a short distance from the Mediterranean.

2. Stubaier Höhenweg: A 7-day hut tour with very well-equipped huts and considered one of the most beautiful tours in the Alps. The route is like a circuit through the mountains from Neustift. From each hut is an option towards the valley, so the route is very easy to shorten.

3. Karnischer Höhenweg: An 8-day trek over the main ridge of the Carnic Alps that forms the border between Austria and Italy. There are several variations and options to shorten the trek or make it more challenging. We did the most well-known form of the Karnischer Höhenweg, walking from Sillian to Hermagor in eight days.

4. Schladminger Tauern: The Schladminger Tauern is one of the most water-rich areas in Austria. This area therefore has the most mountain lakes in the Eastern Alps. As a result, you will encounter several streams, waterfalls and mountain lakes every day. This tour takes you past small and cosy mountain huts and the mountains are teeming with glaciers. The tour takes a total of five days and is a round through the Schladminger Tauern with both the village of Schladming as starting and finishing point.

5. Gesäuse Huttentour: A 5-day hut trek through a quiet but beautiful mountain area. Despite the beautiful area, we did find this hut tour a bit disappointing, as you first descend into the valley each day and then climb back up to the hut. As a result, you don't walk much on top of the mountains and relatively much in the inhabited world.
